Charleston Travel Guide

After visiting Charleston this weekend, I can say it’s one of my favorite cities in the US! Jett and I had the best time eating and strolling our way through the city. We literally had 4 meals planned each day so we needed to do all the walking we possibly could HA! I will say, Charleston in the middle of the summer is hot and HUMID, and requires bug spray lol. Our next trip I would love to go in the Fall! Regardless, we had the best romantic weekend getaway. We even talked about considering Charleston for a second home one day! I can’t recommend Charleston enough, especially if you’re into the food scene. We typically plan all our trips around dining! I’m highlighting our restaurants, accommodations, and activities below, as well as some additional recommendations.

Restaurants: Where to eat and drink!

Where to Stay:

We booked very last minute the week of our trip so our accommodations were limited. We stayed at Hotel on Market which was reasonably priced and in the perfect location (walking distance to everything you want to see!). The hotel is currently under renovation and will be a totally different branded hotel with a new name and over 100 rooms (opening approx. Summer 2020). The staff was extremely accommodating, and we look forward to staying there after the reopening.

I would also recommend Hotel Bennett, The Dewberry, Belmond Charleston Place, Grand Bohemian Hotel, and The Mills House. You could also consider renting an Airbnb if you have a large group!

What to do:

King Street *shipping and strolling*

Rainbow Row *be prepared for people trying to get the perfect insta shot LOL*

Church street and surrounding streets *stroll and look at all the beautiful houses!*

Waterfront Park *Pineapple Fountain*

Ghost Tour

College of Charleston *stroll around campus*

These tips and recommendations are sure to give you an amazing trip to Charleston! Let me know if you go and what you think! Also, please let me know if you enjoyed this type of travel guide. I can do more like this of all the places we have visited!
